Alternative firing: Splash Obvara

Description:
Clay pieces must be made from WS-5 clay and terra sigged once dry. Bisque will be special low temperature so participants MUST place work in the window staging area with a yellow raku slip clearly labeled Obvara. Instructor will manage bisque firing process. Firing stickers required.

On firing day, participants must wear cotton or wool long pants, long sleeved tops, closed toed shoes and socks. Hats to cover hair and eye wear are also required.

Two people remove hot pots from the kiln. Participants will sprinkle sugar, splash fermented mixture and have pieces dipped.
