Hanging Totem

Course Fee: $65.00

Description:

Students will work with the instructor to make separate components to put into a totem. 
 

Materials: 

• Speckled Buff or Redstone clay*
• Basic handbuilding tools*
• Carving and texture tools (i.e. wipe out tool, sgraffito tool, dull pencil,sureform)
• 25 feet of parachute cord (Brown Camo Paracord used on sample) available at Hobby Lobby*
• Hardware (3/16" thimble) for hanging (available at Ace @ approx. $1.69)*
• 5" Styrofoam ball (available at Michaels @ $4.99*
• Nylon stocking, knee high okay (available at Dollar Tree @ $1)*
• Cookie cutters, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2 inch (approximately)
• Hole cutter, 1/4" (or size to accommodate your parachute cord)
• *Required items. Instructor will have various tools available for your use

• Skill Level/pre-requisites: This is an advanced class.  You must have worked with clay at the intermediate level and it will help if you have taken the plant pal class.
